As Carbon Spring Steel, Stainless Steel and Mild Steel suppliers we offer a comprehensive range of precision strip. Spring Steel, Stainless Steel and Mild Steel specifications can be supplied and cut to your requirements. High Carbon Spring Steel, Stainless Steel and Ltd Steel strip is supplied in coil, slit to width and cut to length. Highley Steel Ltd and as Spring Steel suppliers we offer a full comprehensive range of precision strip high carbon spring steel. High Carbon Spring Steel specifications can be supplied cut to your requirements. High Carbon Spring Steel Precision Strip is supplied in coil, slit to width and cut to length. Spring steels are low alloy, medium or carbon steels manufactured to very high yield strengths. Their main feature is the ability to resist deformation, and return to shape. There are two main methods of production, the most common involving the heat treatment process known as hardening and tempering, where medium and high carbon steels are heated and quenched. Whilst this achieves high yield strength, the process introduces brittleness and the material is subsequently tempered to remove the stresses and greatly reduce the risk of the material breaking in use. The presence of carbon is key to this process. The second production method involves utilising the work hardening nature of steel to achieve high tensile strength. This is achieved by cold working, through rolling or drawing and is more commonly used with the austenitic stainless range of materials. Spring Steel is typically used because of its’ high yield strengths, resistance to deformation and its ability to return to its original shape. Our spring steel is available as “heat-treatable annealed”, which allows the forming to occur prior to the heat treatment or as “heat treated”, having been previously hardened, tempered or sprung. Precision Steel’s inventory of annealed spring steel can easily be formed, tempered, heat treated, blanked or shaped.  In addition to the annealed and heat-treated spring steel Highley Steel Ltd Block F, 3-4 Mill Race Lane, Stourbridge Trading Estate Stourbridge, West Midlands, DY8 1JN Telephone: 01384 396660 Fax: 01384 396662
